Today, was the day we explored Jaipur.

We started this woderful day with a picture of Lokesh and the ladies.

A snake charmer along with his cobra scared Dafina.

Hawa Mahal was built at a time when women of the royal families had to observe strict purdah, many believe that the Hawa Mahal was built, just so these ladies could watch the processions and various activities taking place on the streets. This explains why Hawa Mahal has such tiny windows and many screened balconies. The royal ladies could look below at the people without showing themselves and thus enjoy a sense of freedom.

Umed, Dafina, and Lokesh with the Amber Fort in the background. Amber as it exists now is the handiwork of three of the kingdom's rulers that include Man Singh, and Jai Singh I and II.

Another picture of the gang with the Amber Fort in the background.

The gang inside the Amber Fort. In the background is the courtyard where the King used to meet his visiters.

The guide "Asu" trying his best to explain the history of the fort to business majors.

Say Cheese Lokesh, in the background is a beautiful garden inside the fort.

Nell, Umed, Dafina, and Allison in a balcony from which pregenat wives of the King watch him socialize with his numerouns wives, concubines, mistresses, and Keeps.

We had lunch at this wonderful restaurant at the hotel "The Raj Palace".

A well dressed goat with it's left leg in a cast.

A view of The Jantar Mantar. It is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II at his then new capital of Jaipur between 1727 and 1733. It is modelled after the one that he had built for him at the then Mughal capital of Delhi. He had constructed a total of five such observatories at different locations, including the ones at Delhi and Jaipur. The Jaipur observatory is the largest of these.

This is one of the two dials used to predict the sun's current planetary movement.

A view of the City Palace from the "Jantar Mantar".

A really well dressed guide showing us the way to have a glimpse of the royal wardrobe.

After the trour of the royal wardrobe we caught up with a few artisons, and was kind enough to paint this elephant for the team.

The Royal elephants cuddling up.

Daifna and Lokesh celebrating Christmas at
Chokhi Dhani. Umed was unable to join because of bad jet lag, and Allison was suffering sun allergies.

Nell and Dafina posing for a snap at the bar in Chokhi Dhani.
